Loyal followers of this site already know that Mike Rowe and the Dirty Jobs crew will be returning to Discovery with all-new episodes in October, but now we know it’s October 6th and that Mike has quite an adventure planned for the show’s return.
Get it straight from Discovery:
The world’s most sought-after guinea pig for all things dirty, grimy and messy returns to Discovery Channel Tuesdays at 9PM ET/PT beginning October 6th, for 11 all-new episodes of the Emmy-nominated series DIRTY JOBS. In the continuation of season five, host and creator Mike Rowe travels the country to showcase the downright dirty jobs that most people would go out of their way to avoid. From toilet crushers to maple syrup processors to camel ranchers, Mike serves as apprentice to the hard-working and skilled men and women who make civilized life possible for the rest of us each and every day.
Since the series first debuted in 2005, DIRTY JOBS has provided an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at more than 200 dirty jobs (and counting!) – in industries ranging from construction to sanitation to manufacturing. In the October 6th premiere episode, Mike will head to Miami, FL to try out marine salvaging, where he’ll work to remove submerged, abandoned boats from the water. He’ll then go to a recycling center in San Francisco to separate the metal, fabric, padding and wood parts of a mattress so each can be made into a new product.
In other premiere episodes this fall, Mike will try his hand at hydrodam mechanics, cedar log peeling, glass making, dung beetle researching and fireworks manufacturing, among various others, adding even more diversity to his extensive resume.
And in other Discovery-related news, MythBusters is returning October 7th with all-new episodes. It’ll be one heck of a week if you ask me.
In the meantime, don’t forget to check out the Labor Day marathon of Dirty Jobs.
Recently Mike Rowe was in Jonesboro Arkansas. Can you tell me when that show will be airing?
No, sorry.
