Our beloved host of Dirty Jobs is reportedly teaming up with Motorolla to promote a series of phones that are rugged enough to withstand the types of everyday jobs we see Mike get his hands dirty doing on Discovery. Motorolla even put the phones into the hands of a few familiar faces. In the behind-the-scenes clip below, you’ll recognize people from past episodes of Dirty Jobs.
After watching last night’s special episode of Dirty Jobs, “The Dirty Truth”, I found myself eager for more new episodes. The opening bit where Mike Rowe introduces himself included a few pieces of footage that were either new or I simply don’t remember. If it’s my memory that is going (entirely possible at this point), then I may need to go back over the last season or two of episodes. However, if there were some new pieces, then it’s got me all the more psyched about the possibility of there being new episodes this summer.
I enjoyed watching Mike reintroduce us to some of the past characters. My favorite remains Ashley, the mosquito girl. I can’t think of her without thinking of Mike’s insanely direct statement of “You’re not like the other girls.” God bless her for not taking offense to it and instead laughed along with Mike and everyone watching. It remains one of my favorite quotes from the show and there have been some doozies.
Tonight on Discovery, Mike Rowe gets down and dirty as he helps Discovery celebrate 25 years of television. In celebration of Discovery’s 25th Anniversary, Mike serves up an alternative to worn out cliches with six hard-earned lessons gleaned from 250 Dirty Jobs.
Tune in to Discovery at 9pm EST for the new special episode of Dirty Jobs.
Also, Discovery is having a marathon of previous episodes throughout most of the day today.
As I mentioned last month, Dirty Jobs will be returning with a special episode which looks back at previous episodes as Mike offers employment tips he’s learned over the years. The special, which is being called “The Dirty Truth”, is scheduled for premiere on Monday, June 14th at 9pm EST.
I’m really looking forward to this episode. It seems like it’s been a long time since we’ve had any new Dirty Jobs episodes.
