Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe was recently interviewed on the subject of the timber/forestry industry by Media Planet, which is part of the Vancouver Sun.

In the brief interview, Mike talks about what attracted him to develop a show like Dirty Jobs and why he feels we should look at the forestry industry a little differently than we did in decades past.

Note: I will warn you that the link to the interview opens a PDF file, so make sure you have your Adobe PDF file reader installed. I don’t like to link to PDF files since they’re often slower to load than the typical HTML page, but I couldn’t find the interview anywhere else in full.

You can read the entire interview featuring Mike Rowe here.

We’ve often seen Mike make a simple mistake on Dirty Jobs, but this week Mike thanked the wrong group during a “Thank You” video after he won the “Best Reality Show Host” award.

Check out this video for all the details. I’m sorry to laugh at someone’s misfortune, but it’s hard not to laugh a little.

In all seriousness now, congratulations, Mike. You definitely deserve the award. You do a great job on the show. We’re all huge fans of the show and can’t wait for new episodes.

Discovery Channel hasn’t been showing Dirty Jobs repeats nearly as often as they used to. On their Discovery Theater channel, they have a few episodes every now and then, but on their main channel, nothing.

Tomorrow, however, we’ll see a pair of repeats in the morning hours. The “Aerial Tram Greaser” and “Exotic Nanny” episodes are scheduled to air Thursday morning at 9 and 10am EST. DVR them if you’re going to be at work.

The inaugural Critics Choice Awards by the Broadcast Television Journalist Association will be presented June 20 in Beverly Hills and streamed live on VH1.com and our favorite host Mike Rowe has been nominated for his hosting of Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs. How awesome is that?!

Other nominees in the “Best Reality Show Host” category include the following:
Tom Bergeron, Dancing With the Stars
Cat Deeley, So You Think You Can Dance
Ty Pennington, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Ryan Seacrest, American Idol

Good luck, Mike. We’re all rooting for you!

Today, Mike Rowe tweeted a new photo for fans to see him at one of his latest jobs. He didn’t say exactly what the job is, but it does make your imagination run wild with possibilities:

Cheer up, Mike. At least you have a job… ;)
