In what may be his grossest job yet, Mike joins forces with a man who scours barnyards in search of bits of owl vomit. Along the way, he learns why owls are forced to regurgitate parts of what they eat and investigates the skeletal remains of their half-digested prey. Once enough vomit has been collected, Mike learns how to process and package it before sending it off to science teachers around the world.

Join Mike for his stint as a turkey farmer, where he’s tasked with keeping 50,000 gobblers happy and healthy until their destiny as sandwich meat can be fulfilled. Mike answers questions from viewers and shows some of the many outtakes and deleted scenes from the show. Mike also does a new dirty job and goes to a dairy farm in Pennsylvania to milk some cows, feed a newborn calf, collect fresh cow poo for study, and do some of the daily maintenance on the feed mill. Mike ends the show by singing his own version of the Dirty Jobs theme song.

Mike steps into the shoes of a mushroom farmer and learns just how dirty cultivating edible fungus can be. As he discovers, horse manure and soiled straw make the perfect compost for growing mushrooms - that is, if you can stand the smell. Later, watch as Mike goes treasure hunting in a Los Angeles storm drain and learns how to melt metal in a Pennsylvania foundry.

With tool belt in tow, Mike plays plumber and heads underground to repair a smelly sewage backup. Plus, learn how synthetic mud is created (for use in certain specialty drilling jobs) and why oil drilling is one of the most dangerous jobs around.

Mike meets a Las Vegas pig farmer who feeds his oinkers leftover scraps from casino buffets and restaurants. Work begins by sorting out t-bones, napkins and other inedible bits from an unsightly mound of slop that is later cooked in a giant, homemade crock-pot. Plus, watch as Mike goes behind the scenes of a Vegas magic show that uses an aviary full of ducks, geese and pigeons on stage. His job? Make all of the bird droppings disappear.

Mike is hired to dismantle floats from the Tournament of Roses Parade. Floats are made of flowers and fruit that have been rotting for weeks in a hot warehouse. It’s a dirty job that will forever change the way you look at parades.

Mike teams up with a group of garbage collectors that convert trash into electricity. It’s a smelly proposition that has him up to his knees in other people’s garbage but in the end he learns that some dirty jobs are helping to preserve the environment.

Watch as Mike falls head over heels for his newest dirty job as a skull cleaner for a company that supplies animal skeletons to museums and schools. After putting a team of beetles to work cleaning smaller carcasses, he power washes the skeleton of a 42-foot hump back whale. Later, learn what disgusting work goes into making delicious, Boudin sausage links.

Mike finds himself waist deep in mud digging furiously as he harvests clams in the cold waters of Puget Sound. This special breed of clams bury themselves nearly three feet underground and the only way to harvest them is to get down and dirty.

Mike Rowe joins forces with the Air Force as he travels to McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas, to clean the stratotanker fuel tanks. When the tanks get clogged Mike joins the crew to crawl inside the empty “bladder cell”. It’s a messy, gooey and dirty job as Mike learns whaty it takes to keep the KC-135 Stratotanker refueling fighter planes and cargo aircraft in mid-air.

Watch as Mike comes face to face with great white sharks in South Africa and risks his limbs attempting to tag them with a satellite-tracking device that helps scientists track their migration patterns. Later, Mike tests out a seal decoy and actually witnesses several great white attacks. Finally, Mike helps perform a necropsy on a nine-foot bull shark.

Mike rolls up his sleeves and makes shark replicas to match sharks that fishermen catch and then later release. Mike learns quickly that the coal business is a dirty - and dangerous - profession. Rowe and the miners bury into the mine to see how coal is removed from earth and loaded onto carts. Then Mike gets a taste of the fun when he drills into the hardened earth to carefully place dynamite into the holes to blast a new vein of coal. Later, Mike learns there’s an art to making big rocks into small ones as he joins a crew at a rock quarry.

Mike hoofs it to a Pennsylvania dairy farm to work with a podiatrist treating a herd of hardworking cows. Bovine foot problems are from gross to grosser - as in hairy warts and harmful toe ulcers. Hoisting the cows into his truck for treatment, Mike’s joins the hoof trimmer to clean mud, muck and more before they trim the cow’s hooves. Happy cows with healthy feet make better milk! Plus, he gets hip deep in mud and muck working with hippo keepers at the Adventure Aquarium.

Mike Rowe joins a crew of filthy farmers on their job at Taylor Shellfish Farms, gets down and dirty in the tropics as he farms taro, and finds out that animals don’t like haircuts when he joins a family of alpaca farmers to shear their alpacas.

Travel with Mike to the Lake Erie Water Snake Outreach Center and become a snake researcher for a day. After wrangling snakes from nearby lakes and shores, Mike returns to the lab to get a dirty lesson on how to make snakes regurgitate their lunch.

Learn the art of concrete stamping as Mike joins a rowdy construction crew in California. But first, Mike visits the historic Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, where he tries out the job of a penguin keeper. Watch in disgust as he crawls into nests to cleanout penguin excrement, feathers and food.

Join Mike at the McShane Bell Foundry in Maryland as he learns the art of making giant bells. After a quick lesson, he climbs atop a local church steeple to help maintain a century-old bell. There’s just one catch, Mike must carefully watch every step as his feathered friends have left behind some very special treats.

Just when he thought he’d seen it all, Mike is hired on to catch small fish from the muddy canals of New Orleans. Mike must count, clean and transport the fish to abandoned swimming pools around the city in an effort to fight mosquito infestations. Plus, he gets a lesson from scientists breeding mosquitoes to learn about their resistance to pesticides.
